Quick response from firefighters helped keep damage from a fire in Grimes County to a minimum.
Fire fighters got the call about the wildfire on High Star Lane in the Singleton area around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Five acres burned but nearby homes were not damaged and no one was hurt. The Texas Forest Service created a fire line so the flames wouldn't spread.
No official cause has been given yet, but authorities believe trash burning and high winds are to blame. But a citation will probably not be issued since Grimes County is not currently under a burn ban.
