A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madision, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, & Washington Counties until 8am Saturday morning.
Monday evening, Brazos County Commissioners lifted the off-again, on-again burn ban.
It was a unanimous vote that ended this ban, but Judge Randy Sims said it will likely appear on the court's agenda again next week.
Rain totals for 2006 have jumped above the average after Monday morning's storms, though for the month of March, totals are slightly below average.
However, there is a major deficit that Mother Nature has to make up for. Looking at 2005, the official readings at Easterwood Airport showed the year's rainfall at 10 inches below average.
