After three years police think they have the final suspect linked to an armed robbery and attempted murder of a police officer. Finding the culprit wasn't tough.
As a matter of fact, he walked right into the police station Monday.
Gilbert Hamilton is booked on Attempted Capital Murder and two counts of Aggravated Robbery. Police located Hamilton and called him over the weekend.
When Hamilton came in Monday to find out what officers wanted, they arrested him.
The armed robbery took place May 2003 at a Western Union on Texas Avenue. Three suspects fled the scene and led police on a chase that included a shootout.
Two men have already been tried and convicted for their involvement. Mark Kearney is serving a 75-year sentence for attempted capital murder. Reginald McAfee is doing a 60-year stint for armed robbery.
