Brazos Valley Burn Bans: The following counties are under a Burn Ban: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Washington
29th street in Bryan will no longer be the only Brazos County address for the St. Joseph Regional Health Center hospital. Plans unveiled Wednesday detail major expansion on the south side of College Station. A multi-purpose health destination facility off Greens Prairie road and highway six. Designers expect the hospital will be completed and open for patients by the Fall of 2007.
The new location will house family practise offices, day surgery facilities and diagnostic and therapeutic services. The project is in design phase, with the initial construction estimated to be at least 90,000 square feet. By the end of 2007 the campus will provide office space for primary care physicians, obstetricians, medical specialists and surgical specialists as well as a day surgery center.
"For almost two years we have been monitoring the rapid residential growth in the area around Greens Prairie Road," said Jack Buckley, CEO of SJRHC. "By conducting household surveys we know that many area residents would like to use St. Joseph when they have health needs, but our current campus just isn't very convenient for them. We want to offer more convenience to the residents of College Station and southern Brazos County."
St. Joseph Regional Health Center already has campuses across the Brazos Valley including several facilities in Brazos, Madison, Grimes and Burleson counties. St. Joseph has operated hospitals in Bryan since the 1930's.
