Thousands of Texas A&M Students gave back to the local community Saturday for the annual Big Event.
The project is the largest one-day student service project in the nation.
Students spent the day in various parts of the twin cities working on projects such as painting, weeding, planting trees, washing windows and building fences.
Big Event was started in 1982 by six A&M students.
Since then, Aggies have performed more than a half-million hours of community service.
