A College Station man involved in an accident on Highway 6 has died.
Gonzalo Garcia, Jr., 62, died Wednesday morning at The College Station Medical Center.
Police say Gonzalo was stopped in his Ford Escort at the Harvey road bridge on Earl Rudder Freeway early Tuesday morning.
His car was struck by a Ford F150 pickup truck traveling northbound on Earl Rudder.
The pickup flipped over upon impact and came to a stop on the north side of the bridge.
The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles.
The driver of the pickup truck was treated and released from the hospital.
Police will reconstruct the accident scene on Sunday, April 2nd.
The northbound lanes of Earl Rudder Freeway South will be closed to traffic from 7 until approximately 10:30am.
Vehicles will be required to exit onto Harvey Road and they should expect delays. Motorists should plan to take alternate routes during this time.
