Wildfires that burned 14 homes near Amarillo are under control.
A local fire captain tells the Amarillo Globe-News the destruction "was similar to a tornado coming through."
There are no known injuries. Some of the mobile homes that burned were vacant. The American Red Cross chapter is working to help the fire victims.
Forest Service officials say they think about 400 acres burned.
