They have gone above and beyond to keep drugs and alcohol out of our neighborhoods. Thursday, they were honored for their work by the Brazos Valley Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse.

Six Brazos Valley officers were chosen for the Enrique Camarena award for outstanding efforts in the war on drugs. They are: College Station Police Officer Travis Lacox, Washington County DPS Trooper Ross Bates, Washington County Sheriff's Deputy Justin Royall, Hearne Police Officer Chris Witzel, Bryan Police Officer James Murphy, and Brenham Police Officer Chris Jackson.

"We want drugs out of Brazos Valley and this is what they do," said BVCASA Director Mary Mattingly. "So it's important for someone to tell them how much we appreciate them."
