A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Milam, Robertson, Leon Counties until 9pm Monday, for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery,San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties until 10pm Monday, and for Lee county until 1am Tuesday. An additional widespread 1" to 3" rain accumulations are possible through Monday, with locally higher amounts possible.
A Giddings man is dead after a fatal accident Sunday morning in Lee County.
It happened just before 5 a.m. on U.S. 77 about three miles north of Highway 21.
Authorities Valerio Orocio, 21, was southbound on U.S. 77 when he lost control of his vehicle.
In his attempts to gain control, the left rear wheel came off, causing the vehicle to roll several times.
Orocio was pronounced dead at the scene. His brother, Victor Orocio, 16, is in critical condition at an Austin hospital.
Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
