A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Lee county through 5am Saturday. A few areas of rain and thunderstorms could still be possible through the overnight hours. While most of this should remain below severe levels, a few storms (if they can redevelop) could brings gusty winds, heavy rain, thunder, & lightning. Overall threat is diminishing through 3am.
Area law enforcement stayed busy this past weekend monitoring Chilifest.
Tons of state troopers lined Highway 60 and stopped about 1,080 vehicles. Troopers made almost 220 arrests and issued 38 DWIs or driving while intoxicated.
Burleson County issued nearly 90 citations and made several arrests. 58 MIPs, or minor in possession were given out.
But on a positive note, authorities say those numbers are slightly down from last year.
