One last round of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms is possible in the Brazos Valley through midnight. A few storms could be strong to severe, with damaging winds & hail being a concern. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Highest potential for severe weather is over the Northeastern Corner of the Brazos Valley.
It's a big day of celebration for what's becoming one of the area's beloved landmarks.
Dozens of community members celebrated the second anniversary of the Brazos Valley African American Museum.
The highlights of the region's rich history has drawn dozens of buses full of tourists in the last year according to co-founder Mell Pruitt, who says it's a testament to all the work people have put into the museum.
"I wanted something where the community would feel proud of and support, and we have really found that," said Pruitt.
In addition to numerous speeches from community leaders, there was also a book signing for "Fading Glory: Contributing Factors to the Decline of America's Public Schools" by Ernestine and Kim Garner.
