It's an intersection that's been debated for the past few weeks. Now, it's the site of a fatal accident.
Sidney Moehlman Jr., 35, was killed Tuesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a jeep.
The accident happened around 2:30pm at the Blinn College entrance on 29th Street, right across from Skrivanek Drive.
Moehlman was on his bike travelling on 29th when the jeep pulled out from Blinn. The vehicles collided, and Moehlman came off his bike. The College Station resident was taken to St. Joseph with severe head trauma, but died from his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the jeep was uninjured.
Authorities are investigating the crash to determine if any citations will be issued.
The 29th Street/Skrivanek intersection is one that is likely to see some significant changes soon. Proposals from city planners have a traffic signal going in there, and Skrivanek being turned into a cul-de-sac without access to 29th Street.
