High-Profile Races Don't Equal Early Voting

By  |

Just like last month's elections in Brazos County, early voting totals for this Tuesday's runoff are way down. With early voter turnout an indicator of Election Day turnout, the outlook is not pretty.

As of last night, just shy of 1,100 Republicans have voted early for their two local and one state runoffs, while just 57 Democrats have early voted for the two state runoffs. That's less than 50 percent of the early turnout in 2002 or 2004.

The only two Brazos County election runoffs are Republican races for judge.
