A cold front will approach the Brazos Valley later today. Isolated areas of rain and thunderstorms could develop along and ahead of that front between mid-afternoon and early evening. Good news: rain & storm activity will be quick moving (1 hour or less). Bad news: a few severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong, damaging winds being the main concern. A brief, isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out, as well.
Area law enforcement officials worked together to catch a mobile check forging operation.
Twenty-six-year-old Anne Davis, 33-year-old Donald Baker and 36-year-old Jerry Baxter were arrested in Conroe and charged with check forgery.
Police say the trio made counterfeit checks using real bank account numbers and fake I.D.s. The checks were reportedly passed in Huntsville, Conroe, Montgomery, and Magnolia.
More charges and arrests are expected. Police encourage all merchants to ask for I.D. and look it over before accepting a check.
