A popular College Station restaurant was robbed late Monday night.

Police say just before midnight, officers were called to the Wing Stop restaurant on the 700 block of University Drive. Police say a lone gunman showed his weapon and demanded cash from the employees. He left with an undisclosed amount.

No one was hurt.

The robber is described as a Hispanic or a light skinned black man approximately six feet tall weighing about 190 to 200 pounds. The robber wore a grey hoodie-type sweatshirt and blue jeans.

If you know anything about this crime, call College Station police at 764-3600.

RESPONSE TO RICHARD: YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT. ANY COMPANY THAT VALUES ITS'EMPLOYEES SHOULD HAVE SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS. SUBWAYS IN BRYAN DO NOT HAVE THEM. AND THEY OFTEN HAVE YOUNG GIRLS WORKING AT NIGHT BY THEMSELVES. ESPECIALLY AT THE DOWNTOWN LOCATION, WHICH IS CLOSE TO THE MISSION. WE ALL KNOW THAT IT HOUSES SOME SCARY PEOPLE WHO WALK THRU DOWNTOWN ALOT. WHY PUT THESE YOUNG PEOPLE AT RISK? IF YOUR CHILD WORKS FOR SUBWAY, YOU BETTER THINK TWICE ABOUT IT.

Richard, why would anyone get upset. You have made a very good point. Well, criminals may get upset with you but I think that you are right on target.

Before everyone gets upset=== as much as you are going to say that I'm an idiot, it needs to become mandatory that all businesses have video cameras inside and out to capture the crimes and they need to be of good video quality. Not just a camera to say that you have one, but a camera that allows law enforcement a chance to acutally get somewhat of a description of the criminal. I know that it will not prevent the crime but officers would have a greater chance in apprehending the jerks. And no I don't sell or have or know of anyone that promotes video cameras.

thank heaven no one was hurt. he should have been satisfied w/some free wings.i have to say wing stop has the best! crime is increasing in our twin cities. its' just the times we live in. don't be suprised by this. look at what happened on the greyhound bus in canada. someone who appeared perfectly normal, held a job etc. just lost his mind. the world is scary. i don't know about anybody else, but i am turning my face to GOD. HE IS THE ONLY HOPE WE HAVE.

I hope none of the CSPD officers ran any redlights with cameras responding to the call. Then their administration would have them pay a ticket when it was all said and done.

NOT knocking the police! Our city needs to budget to be pro-active. We need to set a reputation in this town. Send a message to go somewhere else to do your crime. As citizens we should not tolerate anyone that seeks to destroy our safety. Look at Houston. Average response to a 911 call in Houston is about 10 minutes. We need to give our police the staffing and the resources to POLICE, that is right, be policeman! Don't tie the hands. Let them do their job.

The robber may have been upset with the recent price increases at Wing Stop.

Anonymous. Your money goes to schools that allow illegals in and promote crime and turn every environment into a prison-like atmosphere. Your tax dollars go to train the criminals. But since the government is getting a lot of MONEY out of it, they don't care. They may even qualify for a FEDERAL grant to "study" the problem they are promoting. What is their incentive to fix it? More problems, more money.

Check the HUD rats in CS. If he is in the Slums and Ghettos of Bryan he is gone. This restaurant has been robbed 3 times now at night. CS is a easy target. Bryan restaurant close early for a reason.

I pay over $5000 a year in property taxes. Does any of this money go for crime prevention? We need our police to be very active.
