A Texas A&M dean has been named the new head of Tufts University's Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Deborah Turner Kochevar will take over at the Massachusetts school on August 1st.
She's currently associate dean for professional programs at Texas A&M's veterinary school. Kochevar is also a professor of veterinary physiology and pharmacology at Texas A&M. She has degrees from Rice University, Texas A&M and the University of Texas Southwestern
Medical Center. She has been on Texas A&M's faculty since 1987.
The Cummings School is located in the central Massachusetts community of Grafton. It has more than 300 students and treats more
than 28-thousand animals each year.
Kochevar takes over from Philip C. Kosch, who took a position in the provost's office in 2005. M. Sawkat Anwer has served as interim dean for the past year.
