Authorities have arrested two 20-year-old Duke University lacrosse players on charges of rape, sexual offense and kidnapping.
A jail official says Durham, North Carolina, police arrested Reade Seligmann and Collin Finnerty, both sophomores.
The arrest comes a little more than a month after a 27-year-old stripper told police she was raped at a party thrown by the team. She's black and says her attackers were white.
Seligmann is out on 400-thousand-dollars bail and Finnerty is in the process of posting bail.
Seligmann is from New Jersey and Finnerty is from New York State.
A defense attorney has called the indictments a "tragedy."
Lawyers say DNA tests failed to connect anyone at the party to the alleged attack.
The racially charged allegations have led to protests, cost the team its season and forced the coach to resign.
