A family is suing Fort Worth and one of the city's police officers after a car wreck involving the officer.
Laura Navarro underwent an emergency Caesarean section after the accident in Tarrant County last week. Her son Javen Navarro was born two months prematurely and died after only two days.
The Navarros filed a civil claim yesterday seeking ten-million dollars in damages for the baby's death and injuries to other family members in the car.
The family's car was struck last week by Officer C. Fearneyhough as he drove home from work in a patrol car. Investigators say the officer crossed the center line and crashed into the Navarros.
Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson says an investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed.
Fearneyhough, a six-year veteran of the Fort Worth department, is on injury leave, a police spokesman says.
Fort Worth police and city officials declined comment on the lawsuit.
