Cornyn Speaks on Rural Health Care

Growing demands on rural health care in the Brazos Valley have grabbed the attention of a U.S. Senator. Republican John Cornyn was in town Tuesday to meet with the Brazos Valley Health Partnership board and local officials.

He applauded the board and its work with Texas A&M's School of Rural and Public Health for providing transportation and preventative programs.

"First and for most I've decided the best way we can help is try to grow the number of fully qualified community health centers in the state of Texas," said Cornyn.

Other efforts include expanding primary medical care and opening resource centers in rural counties.
