Grimes County residents are back in their homes after Tuesday's natural gas leak. About 50 people were evacuated due to the leak on FM 1774 in Todd Mission.
The oil company says a worker was trying to loosen a valve but the valve popped off causing an explosion. The leak was capped off at 4 a.m. Wednesday and crews started cleaning up the site.
No injuries were reported and the railroad commission is looking into safety or environmental hazards and checking the well.
