Brenham's city council heard the results of a feasibility study for landfill property near Chappell Hill Thursday. The issue has been looming for over 2 decades with residents opposing the landfill.
The study showed the land was worth between $4 and $8 million dollars with the permit and considerable less with out it. Feasibility reports show it would cost the city more money to run a landfill than the current system of trucking the trash to Austin.
The council is expected to take up the issue again at its May meeting.
