After nearly a year long legal battle, the city of Huntsville has reached an agreement with CenterPoint Entergy concerning rate increases. Terms include a 9 dollar per year rate reduction for customers.

There's also protection against base rates increases for the next 3 years, including cost increases resulting from hurricanes, or weather events, inflation or escaltion in the cost of goods and services, and labor benefits.

Other terms include that CenterPoint may only raise base rates if it first files with the Alliance of CenterPoint Municapalities, of which Huntsville is a part of.
