Authorities say it started Saturday morning before nine when a woman came to visit her husband.
As she arrived, she confronted Angela Williams, 35, for allegedly visiting the woman's husband as well.
The argument escalated and the woman told investigators Williams used a box cutter to wound the woman on the arm and chest.
Williams is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the alleged attack.
If convicted, she could get up to 20 years in prison.
Jail administration officials tell News 3 visitors to the Brazos County Jail are not searched for weapons.
No word yet if this incident will cause officials to review their jail visitation policies.
