Global Night Commute

By  |

Every night thousands of children in Uganda walk for miles in order to escape abduction by a rebel army. In an effort to raise awareness, Invisible Children, a nonprofit organization is staging a Global Night Commute.

It's happening in over 130 cities in the US and the world. Local organizers are planning a commute to Duncan Field on the corner of George Bush and Coke Street at Texas A&M Saturday night starting at 8.

Participants are asked to walk, run, or bike to the field and bring a flashlight, sleeping bag, and food for an overnight stay.

They also plan to write letters to President Bush and Congress asking to send an ambassador to Uganda to help end the war.
