Gov. Rick Perry announced the appointment of James Greer of Keller and G. Kemble Bennett of College Station to the Texas Board of
The board licenses engineers, enforces the Texas Engineering Practice Act and regulates the practice of professional engineering in Texas.
Greer is vice president of asset management and engineering for TXU Electric Delivery. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas and is a member and past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE).
Greer is a past recipient of the Engineer of the Year, Young Engineer of the Year and Van Trump awards from the Fort Worth chapter of TSPE. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Greer received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master's degree from the M.J. Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. His term will expire Sept. 26, 2009.
Bennett is vice chancellor for engineering for the Texas A&M University
System. He is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and the Texas Board of Professional Engineering.
Bennett is a fellow of the Society of Logistics Engineers and the Institute of Industrial Engineers and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
He is a member of the Texas Deans of Engineering, the Texas Engineering and Technical Consortium, and served as the United States technical representative for maintainability engineering to the International Electrotechnical Commission.
A graduate of Florida State University, Bennett received a master's degree from San Jose State University and a doctorate of philosophy
degree in industrial engineering from Texas Tech University. His term will expire Sept. 26, 2011.
