A man hit by a pick-up truck early saturday morning is now in fair condition.

The truck was travelling in the 400 block of Francis drive, when it struck 2 men and a woman before fleeing the scene.
One of the men was taken by PHI helicopter to St. Joseph in Bryan, and later transported to Scott and White in Temple.
The other two had non-life threatening injuries.

College Station Police are looking into several leads in this case.

wow. All i can say is how sad. Obviously ppl know who the driver was and word has spread around town. A person's true colors have come to light! I pray for the victims and the family of the victims.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 26, 2008 at 12:52 PM
they know who did it, they just cant find him!

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 26, 2008 at 05:33 AM
Maybe a helicopter was brought in as extra insurance for human life. The victim's were hit by a pick-up truck. Those are not light vehicles. So what if they flew the victim to St Joseph's which is only a few miles away. It was there in case they needed to go farther.

Unfortunately for my family, the victim in critical condition is my cousin. I am submiting this comment to ask for your prayers for my cousin's full recovery. As LOSING SLEEP commented, he is someone's child lying in a hospital bed! It is heartbreaking to know that my aunt, uncle and cousins have to see their son and brother like this. I hope this individual is brought to justice soon!

Maybe you should read it again before you open your mouth. First to Bryan then to Temple...a complete waste of resources.

Posted by: BB on Aug 25, 2008 at 04:54 PM
Hey confused. It says they were taken to Scott and White in Temple. How long has Temple been 3 miles away from BCS?

There is no picture because the person has not been captured. It's a 'Hit and Run'.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 25, 2008 at 01:52 PM
why no picture? what part of hit and run and investigation don't you understand? it means they don't know who did it.

Posted by: Jason Location: Bryan on Aug 25, 2008 at 01:08 PM
This person was either drunk, very cold blooded or both. I hope for the safety of the general public that he or she is caught and brought to justice. To Me: Grow up and show a little compassion for your common man. To anonymous @ 11:44: 3 am? Who cares what time it happened. Would it be less horrible if it occured at noon? As adults, they have the right to be out and about whenever they please. Some people work night shifts. Others work out at night so they aren't stared at or made fun of. If they are victims of a drunk driver on their way to work or to get food during their "lunch" or out trying to better their health or out for no reason does it matter? Drunks are out at all hours or the day! To Why no Pic?: Did you even read the article? They are still looking for the person that FLED THE SCENE! The reason they posted the pics of the sting op is because the CAUGHT THEM! If you don't read the whole article you shouldn't post

READ the story - hit and R U N !!!! They do not know who hit them. And as for grammar and everyone commenting 'this isn't he time and/or place' - This is a media outlet. This is EXACTLY the time AND place. As a whole, our society looks ignorant and lazy because we are encouraging people to use poor grammar and pay no attention to spelling. READ WHAT YOU WRITE! What would it hurt? Would it kill, or even inconvenience, KBTX and others to proofread their own material? And for the love of all that is holy - KBTX - Could your newscasters be given a minute or two before each broadcast to at least skim what they are about to read? It has become PAINFUL to watch. It just makes our culture look illiterate. And frankly, it is more fun to read these comments when they are coherent. Jis mine opinyin.

Is this accurate? He was taken by helicopter 3 miles? How could that have possibly been quicker than an ambulance response time?

Posted by: why no picture? Location: bryan on Aug 25, 2008 at 09:14 AM
WHY IS THERE NO PICTURE OF THIS CRIMINAL? I'D LIKE TO SEE HIM,SO IF HES' EVER LET OUT, AND I RUN INTO HIM,I'LL KNOW TO GO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. POST HIS PICTURE! YOU DID IT TO THE PROSTITUE SOLICITORS. WHAT THIS MAN DID IS MUCH WORSE!! HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE POLICE,HE MAY HAVE KILLED SOMEONE. IN FRONT OF THEIR CHILDREN.

whoever did this:you need to turn yourself in cause they will eventually find you. i hope you're losing sleep knowing that somebodys' child is lying in a hospital bed, critically wounded, and you're not man/woman enough to come forward. i know its' scary, but do the right thing.

Yes, they were walking at 3am, probably because they were to drunk to drive. If only the idiot that hit them could of been that smart.

Posted by: Jim Location: Bryan on Aug 24, 2008 at 04:49 PM
always nice to have the student drivers back in town.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 24, 2008 at 11:40 AM
no doubt alcohol was involved....

Posted by: Kojak Location: Bryan on Aug 24, 2008 at 07:40 AM
Hey baby enough with the proofreading! Yes, the driver, probably a male student was drunk, and left the scene b/c it seemed better than going to prison.

Posted by: anonymous Location: bryan on Aug 23, 2008 at 11:44 PM
sad news indeed.i'm glad they survived.i hope the person who did this will be punished to the full extent of the law.how can you just drive away knowing you hit someone,as if they were animals? thats' cold blooded. and TO ME:have you been hired to proofread the news? we all got the point, and it's clear what they meant. compassion is in order, not criticism and corrections. wishing the critical young man a full recovery. 3:00 am is no time to be out on the town.

Me: STFU

Posted by: Kendra Location: CS on Aug 23, 2008 at 11:13 PM
So sad ... I'm bet the driver was drunk. My prayers are with the victims.

Posted by: give me a brake Location: bryan on Aug 23, 2008 at 09:01 PM
Come on "me",,,this is a very serious situation!!!! Don't mock it by finding fault with grammar. Find fault with the person that was driving the truck.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 23, 2008 at 08:57 PM
I think our thoughts should be on the people and their injuries and not about the grammar. Have some compassion... I am praying for these three seriously injured young adults.

Posted by: me Location: bryan on Aug 23, 2008 at 02:23 PM
Perhaps they were "lying" on the side of the road, not "laying". I think a hen lays eggs, but people lie down.
