College Station's city council wants even more TxDOT work to be done near some busy intersections, and they say they're willing to chip in to start with.
Thursday afternoon, the council unanimously voted for staff to work with TxDOT to extend plans for grade separation at George Bush Drive and Wellborn so that it would go south of Jones-Butler. The city would pay for the extra work initially, with TXDoT paying back the city over time.
College Station planners say mobility on Jones-Butler would be adversely affected if the grade separation didn't reach that far. The city also hopes to get the project moved up on the calendar if TxDOT were to approve.
