New information regarding the investigation into a Bryan wreck that claimed the lives of three local teens.

The brother of one of the victims is now considered a witness instead of a person of interest.

Bryan Police Chief Ty Morrow says, Wayne Dicky II, the older brother of Alex Dicky, 15, was in a second car at the scene of the accident.

Morrow also told News 3 that the dash cam video may indicate the two cars were racing.

Wayne Dicky II remains in jail for driving several times while his license was suspended. He also failed to appear in court for a criminal trespassing charge.

According to recently released toxicology reports, alcohol was involved in the fatal wreck.

Police say Alex Dicky of Bryan and Normangee brothers Gus and Dillon Benavides were at a sweet 16 party before the accident, where there was alcohol.

The combination of underage drinking and driving led to the death of these three vibrant teens.

Now police want other teenagers to know one wrong decision can be deadly.

Bryan Police Chief Ty Morrow filed a public service announcement Wednesday about the dangers of drinking and driving. He filmed it at the place where the three teens lost their lives.

"If this public service announcement can reach just one kid or one teen or one adult, to have them think about what they are doing before they climb behind the wheel of a car after drinking, then this is well worth the time spent," Morrow said.

The location of the shoot served as a stark reminder of what happened in early August. Alex Dicky and brothers Dillon and Gus Benadvides were killed when the car they were in hit a tree and burst into flames. Police say speeding and alcohol were involved.

The PSA is aimed at teenagers, who often think they are invincible.

"They think they're superman or superwoman they can do anything," Morrow said. "My caution to them would be, please don't drink and drive and if you do this could be the scene of your death."

The Bryan Police Department has teamed up with the Brazos Valley Regional Advisory Council.

You can see the PSA on KBTX in the coming weeks.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is still looking into who may have provided the teenagers alcohol. The Bryan Police Department says its investigation is on-going.

I agree with Good Idea. If the parents can't take the constant reminder of the accident site, they can move out of the neighbor. Our neighborhood would be safer. August 4 was not the first time that racing and careless driving by teens were on our streets while our families were trying to sleep. Thank God no one has crashed into our house when our young and innocent children are in bed asleep (where they should be at 3a.m.)

Oh and Julie...No one is innocent, we are all born into SIN.

To Julie, I'm very happy thank you! I wish I could say the same for some of the other people making comments. I sense a lot of anger. It's really not healthy you should probably seek help. Thank you

I think the questions about the accident that caused the death of these teens has been beat to death. We don't need to open it all back up. This family is trying to find closure I am sure. That will never be possible as long as people continue to ask where were the parents etc. That is all irrelevant now and can't bring these kids back. That was all a two week discussion. The problem at hand now is a snot nosed brat like WHITE and I feel sure many others who don't WAKE UP after the tragic and senseless death of three kids! I also was not perfect when I was a teen and did my share of drinking, partying etc. but after one of the parties that I attended (as in this case alcohol was provided to all the kids) the car with 4 of my friends were in rolled and paralyzed one, two were in critical condition and the fourth was in a coma for several weeks. That woke my butt up! It is a crying shame what you would say "I will still drink and drive HA" you will end behind bars or in a grave!

To White: If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person on Earth! I just hope that your actions only affect YOU and not some other innocent person!

The only way people will quit drink and drivin is if C.S. and Bryan get some sort of public transportation. And im not talking about that crappy bus that drives around town...I mean real transportation.

Actually, I think the whole idea is, however sad the circumstances, a good decision. I have known Alex and her family a long time and am sickened by the loss of this sweet girl and her two friends. However, seeing the car and the site just may be the kick in the pants that their friends need to see the reality of what can, does and has happened. We need to stop all the sugar coating in kids' lives - that is exactly the reason they think they are indestructible or that it will not or cannot happen to them. It just may take this PSA to wake their sorry butts up to the fact that it could just as easily be them if they choose to make the same poor decisions. I know the image of the car has made me aware of just how quickly something can go wrong, and I am not a child. My heart aches at the tragedy of it all. Kudos to BPD. Might it be a nationwide PSA??? Rest peacefully Alex, Gus and Dillon.

I'm a moron? You people thinking a PSA will stop people from drinking and driving is being a moron haha.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 28, 2008 at 08:59 AM
I would like for CSPD to do the same. What about northgate checkpoints or something? College Station is where the drinking problem is really serious.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 28, 2008 at 08:20 AM
jd...as I also hope that the PSA touches or has an impact on other teenagers and young adults we have to keep in mind they plan on filming the PSA at the crash site where this most recent tragedy occurred. I don't think that showing the wrecked and burned vehicle is necessary. We all know what can and did happen when you drive under the influence of alcohol. The families of these children live in the area and to see this over and over again is going to be terribly difficult for them. Yes, the message is important but personalizing to the extent that you are wanting is not necessary. The families are having a very hard time with everything as it is. Reliving this again and again is not helping anything.

White, what was stated earlier is correct, this is not something to joke about. Nevertheless, if you are serious, your faults will catch up with you one day. Hopefully you will not take anyone eles with your stupid a##.

If they were racing, I hope serious charges are brought against the brother since he obviously has no reguard for traffic laws or laws of any kind for that matter and should be considered a public safety risk. But considering what the last person found guilty of racing drunk was given probation I'm sure we will be hearing more about Wayne Dickey II and his criminal activities.

Kudos and Job well done to Chief Morrow from a CS resident !! I would like for KBTX to air this PSA as often as possible-especially on the week-ends. I sure hope that it touches or has an impact on all the teenagers and young adults in this entire Brazos Valley. I would hope that the wrecked and burned vehicle is included and shown in this PSA also to show folks what can happen when under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Cindy...watch what you say! I'm sick and tired of reading all the "perfect people" on here wondering where the parents were! A 15 year old can sneak out and nobody will ever know. DO YOU EVEN FOR ONE SECOND IMAGINE HOW THE PARENTS FEEL? DO YOU WONDER HOW YOUR LILY-WHITE COMMENTS COULD BOTHER THEM??? I know this family well. They are hurting. Go away with your comments you self-righteous moron.

You're making a pretty sick joke there. It's really sad and disturbing that you can't see the seriousness of this issue. I hope you are just some stupid little kid trying to sound like a smart a$$. But news for you, you're just sounding stupid.

Posted by: cindy Location: college station on Aug 27, 2008 at 07:38 PM
where exactly were the parents of all these kids?

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 27, 2008 at 07:01 PM
To White College Station resident, I am not sure if you think you are being funny or if you are just plain stupid. People die every day from either drinking and driving themselves or being hit by a drunk driver. I sure hope nobody I know and love (or anyone else) is on the road if you do drink and drive. Could you live with yourself if you killed someone just because of your own stupidity? This story is hopefully going to make someone (adult or minor) to think twice before getting in a car after drinking. Don't make this a forum for jokes. It is a very serious matter.
