It will be days before Brent Noland, the man accused of the fatal stabbing at the Renaissance Festival, hears his fate. Monday the state continued calling witnesses including several friends of victim Brandon Smith who were at the festival.
A number of law enforcement officials who worked the scene also testified Monday.
The Grimes County District Attorney's Office says they could rest their case as early as Friday.
Once the defense begins its arguments, they're expected to call Noland to the stand in his own defense.
The defense claims Noland attacked in self-defense; the state says Noland had no reason to kill an innocent man.
