A manager at a College Station eatery is now accused of being behind the armed robbery of her own store.

On August 5, Wing Stop on University Drive was robbed at gunpoint around midnight.

Authorities have arrested the man they say held up the restaurant, 48-year-old James Manuel of Bryan. He's charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

However, authorities say the mastermind of the plan is James's ex-wife, Kami Manuel. The 41-year-old was a manager at the restaurant.

Authorities say she had already stolen thousands of dollars from the store when she asked her ex to rob the place.

Manuel is charged with aggravated robbery, plus theft, a third-degree felony.

Well Woe we should be checking if you got in the money I'm her ex-worker from another job where she got fired from there too. Instead of going to Houston you should have use the money to pay your child support on the 32 kids you have and not at the club spending the money.

James Manuel was convicted for the 1979 murder of Tim Merka. Since he got out in the 1990's, he has been convicted of various other crimes, (Check the Brazos County Judicial Site)along with 2 DWI, not paying childsupport, etc. I ask, when do we decide he is a habitual criminal? If he is going to continue committing crimes against us, the people of Brazos County, lets send him somewhere else, like a life sentence at TDC, isn't that what prison is for? He has proved he will continue to live a life of crime.

If she needed the money she should have robbed a hotel in College Station, then she would have gotten away with it.

Posted by: Anomymous Location: BCS on Sep 2, 2008 at 01:39 PM
Why don't some of your KBTX staff ride by or go into the Bingo Barn by CJ barbq at the bend now until the 3rd of the month when the govt checks come in. The place is packed, then go by at the end of the month, not so many there

Posted by: Anomymous Location: Bryan on Sep 2, 2008 at 11:53 AM
BALONEY is all I have to say about her needing the money for medical and household expenses. Every bit of that money went to her playing BINGO as many as 4 times a day. In the Region of Sat. paper the Ebony Stewart on the bottom of the page who was busted for 900grams of cocaine was also a big BINGO player. There is nothing wrong with gambling, just do it on money left over after the bills are paid and money is put into your 401K. Wait!!!!! These folks are playing on our money thru the government. Kids SSI etc

She can and will be judged by a jury of her peers unless she accepts a plea from the DA. "Ex-worker", have you taken anything that we need to know about?

Posted by: Paul Location: CS on Sep 2, 2008 at 09:52 AM
WOW! I didn't think it was possible, but people posting here have the ability to type Ebonics. "Faught" = Fault last week it was "Flea bargain" for plea bargain. And yes, the blame should be firmly placed on the person that commits the crime. If you steal to gamble or steal to pay for crack rocks, it is the same thing. That is what is wrong with society today, no one takes personal responsibility for their actions.

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 2, 2008 at 09:44 AM
They look like they've been stealing some of the chicken wings too. Maybe their time in jail will give them the opportunity to drop a few lbs.

to Ms. Amazed.............Not amazed someone that would say "shouldn't have never" would know both these scumbags.

OK, that guy is a loser, and retarded, too.

Posted by: BettyBoop Location: Hearne on Sep 1, 2008 at 09:36 AM
Wow...but then again...Whoa! I was told through gossip a long time ago that stealing the moneybag from her job was her specialty, but I didn't want to believe it. I really don't understand why she repeatedly had to steal money because she worked there and she won all the time at bingo. I guess it's like a taste of blood for pitbulls, once you sink your teeth into it you want it more at whatever the cost. It is a shame that this had to happen but we all are responsible for our own actions. Now maybe people can stop blaming her coworkers of what she had been doing all this time. I wonder can you yell BINGO loud enough in prison without getting into trouble, if it's bingo that you're yelling!

I read the crime index reports for the First time. I did not have any idea how crimes is in control of bryan. I would say also that this is Normal Bryan Activity-NBA

you that are without sin, please come forward and cast the first stone. remember this woman has a family thats' hurting alot today over her wrong doing. we don't know the circumstances. she did have cancer in the past.maybe its' come back. what she did was terribly wrong, but lets be guilty of praying for those who have been hurt, and embarrassed by all this.

Posted by: Ex-worker Location: BCS on Aug 30, 2008 at 10:54 PM
That is a shame that she stole money from her job again. She got fired for that last time and they hired her back. It's the company's fought for bringing her back.

I HATE THIS HAPPENED & I HATE HE WAS INVOLVED IN THIS SHE SHUD GET MORE TIME SINCE SHE HAD ALREADY STOLE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS & HOW COME WING STOP DID NOT FIRE HER IF SHE HAD BEEN STEALINGS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WHAT WAS THEY THINKING

Posted by: Ms. Amazed Location: Brazos County on Aug 30, 2008 at 11:42 AM
I know both of them, but I know the male and it was very amazing how he would get involved with a schem like this and knowing that it would be solved instead of thinking things out she shouldn't have never asked him to do such a thing when she had already been stealing money she should have just continued on to what she was doing and not involved anybody, because they have a son together and one need to be out here for him and the rest of his kids. Yes he might have been involved in a crime back in 1980's, but he hasnt done anything since then so don't prejudge him on that cause that was years ago and his life had changed, but true he shouldn't have been involved in that either, or this crime here, but we don't know what the situation was so please don't leave nasty comment about anyone some people don't have money to pay for the little Doctor bills not least the continue of having to go back and forth to the doctor is a struggle. Yes she played Bingo, but cant judge her either. LOVE

Posted by: A friend Location: bryan on Aug 30, 2008 at 09:36 AM
Well, alot of people make mistakes and we must remember that only God can judge us and one sin is no greater then the other one:I will be praying for her and her family and instead of judgeing her, pray for her with me!!!!!

Posted by: to nba person Location: texas on Aug 30, 2008 at 09:19 AM
If I see that "NBA" post again I think I will vomit. It wasn't funny or worthy of this comment section the first time and definitely not the next way too many times in here and the Eagle. I can only imagine what kind of lame short-sighted fool would plant this vailed racist sewage over and again thinking anybody else is entertained by it.

To all who cont.to bash one city or the other:it shows you are dumb and have no life.crime is in every city.someone said "why do they live like that in bryan?" why does crime take place in any place? because SATAN is the god of this world, and his whole intent is to kill, steal, and destroy. it hurts GOD to see his creation in this sinful state. satan has been kicked out of heaven, and he knows his final destination will be the lake of fire. he is angry because he lost his place in heaven, so he uses people to do awful things as a way to get back at GOD who loved men so much that HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON TO DIE FOR OUR SINS.so it has nothing to do with any city, it has everything to do with the fallen state of man. instead of bashing the city, why don't you spend some time praying for our citites? it'd be a better use of your time.and you might help yourself in the process.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 30, 2008 at 02:39 AM
Dont give me this ," She had already took thousands of dollars already" You guys would have known to fire her by now. I tell you. The blame is on both

the husdand is the one who was in on the tim merka killing with the harris brothers from bryan back in the early 1980"s

Posted by: Anonymous Location: B-C on Aug 29, 2008 at 08:18 PM
No wonder she always had so much money to spend at Bingo, same as those who go to Bingo everyday and night then go to the food bank to feed their kids. Government otta stop feeding lots of those folk who spend their monthly disability check and the kids SSI checks but can spend 3 to 4 hundred dollars a day at Bingo.

Wow, such a lovely looking pair. Surprised that CSPD solved this one. I know BPD couldn't have without witnessing it in progress.

i am so disappointed in the manager.i know her,and she seemed to be a nice lady. what led to this? it must be some addiction, for her to embarrass her family like this. daughters hold your head up anyway. pray for your mom. we know this is not like her. something has gone terribly wrong. this family is in my prayers.

Whooaaa! Thats some crazy stuff! How do people think they would get away with such a dumb plan like this? Well they wont be eating chicken wings in prison. I hope they get some good jail time.

Wow, I hate to hear this. I eat there all the time and the manager has always been very friendly and even replaced orders that were wrong twice for me. I hate that she felt she had to do this.

Maybe we need to check if these are the same Bryan residents that robbed the western union in Bryan.
