Another Brazos Valley inmate has died. This time, it may be murder.
Walker County authorities are investigating the death of Rocky Trout, 46, who they believe was beaten to death in his county jail cell.
Another inmate, Freddy Granville, 23, is being questioned in connection with Trout's death.
Around 8:20 Monday night, jail staff was alerted that Trout had been attacked. He was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results.
Trout was in jail on aggravated kidnapping charges, as well as a probation violation. He was from New Waverly.
Granville is from Huntsville, and is in jail on an assault charge.
This is the second inmate to have died in an area jail in a week's time. On May 1, Ricky Dale Shaw died in Milam County's jail. Investigators are awaiting autopsy and toxicology reports, but say there's no outward signs pointing to a cause of death.
