The self-described "hockey mom" has come out slashing. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told delegates at the Republican National Convention that she's an outsider ready to join John McCain in helping to bring real change to Washington.

But Palin also unleashed a smiling attack on Barack Obama. She accused him of wanting to forfeit the victory in Iraq that "is finally in sight." Palin said that "Al-Qaida terrorists" want to cause
"catastrophic harm on America," and that Obama is "worried that someone won't read them their rights."

Palin was joined after the speech by her family and John McCain. He asked roaring delegates, "Don't you think we made the right choice" for vice president?

FUNNY HOW THE TRUTH SHUTS UP THOSE BIG LYING REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE MOUTHS! lol...Their darling candidtae got feet of clay! LOL..How funny! They can=t defend her becsue it is true and pretty low thing to do! LOL..

Bricker, where are you? You need to defend Sarah Plain taking the taxpayers money? You think this true statement helps her? This not attack just getting out tha truth. The real her is not likable.

Posted by: Worried Location: College Station on Sep 10, 2008 at 07:09 PM
I just don't see how we can stay on the same course we have been on with the Bush adminstration. I cannot and will not vote for John McCain because I believe it will just be more of the same. Plus a lot of incompetency where Sarah Palin is concerned. She is likable and different but not at all qualified. And I cannot stand a liar. Especially a smug liar. I am worried and hope Mccain/Palin don't get elected as we will really be in trouble then. I happen to think Barack Obama and Joe Biden will do a better job. At least they are not continually lying when the truth would sound better. That really turns me off. They also seem to have actual plans and can talk about the issues, unlike McCain and Palin. She won't talk at all...as it shows how unqualified she is for the job.

Ok, so was that Taxpayer money paid to Palin, for staying at her own home, a payment to her for saving other money elsewhere and not spending as much as her predecessor? was she paid to not spend as much money as the previous governor? I don't get it. Why did they pay her? And why did she take it if she was trying to save the taxpayer money?

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 10, 2008 at 06:47 PM
Where's Elmer's input on Palin taking taxpayer money for staying in her own home? I figured Elmer would be railing against Sarh Palin for taking those hard-earned taxpayer dollars and putting them in her own pocket! What's your take on it, Elmer? You would rather Sarah Palin had that taxpayer money than those on welfare, some with legitimate needs? Maybe a pregnant white girl needs that money more, though in Alaska it might be an Eskimo? What say, Elmer?

Posted by: Taxpaying Mom Location: College Station on Sep 10, 2008 at 06:38 PM
If Sarah Palin really wants to save taxpayer money, why in the world didn't she just say I will stay in my own home and save you, the taxpayer, almost $20 thousand dollars of taxpayer money. That's just a drop in the bucket, but it all adds up! If you really want to save the taxpayer money, why put it into your own pocket? That is not saving money, that is giving yourself taxpayer money. Donate it back or something. Better yet, don't charge the taxpayers and take it in the first place! It sounds illegal to me. I like Sarah but I am not liking a lot of the things coming out about her. I am beginning to think she is not a good choice. She seems petty, dishonest and not qualiifed. And I won't vote for her. Obama will get my Independent vote!

John McCain and Sarah Palin both speak with forked tongue! Can't believe a word this white man and this white woman say! They Heap Big trouble for America!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Bryan on Sep 10, 2008 at 05:07 PM
Hey, Sarah is still lying about that Bridge to Nowhere she wanted and then didnt want! I guess she thinks if we hear it enough, we might believe her, But after george Bush/Dick Cheney/ karl Rove/ Donald Runsfled that aint gonna happen! What a liar!

Posted by: Observer Location: Bryan on Sep 10, 2008 at 05:00 PM
So, to your way of thinking, it is OK for Sarah Palin to bill taxpayers for her staying in her own home under the guise of state travel expense because she spent less money than her predecessor? Sarah Palin did not save the tapayers that $18,720..it went into her own pocket. Don't you get that..she profited and the taxpayers LOST $18,720. What are you, dense?

Posted by: Homeowner Location: Bryan on Sep 10, 2008 at 04:56 PM
So it's ok to put taxpayer money into your own pocket like Palin did? Darn, who do I contact to see if I can pull that scam here in Texas? maybe Rick perry and i can go in together and scoop up some of that taxpayer money. You are one sick puppy if you can't see that's wrong.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: College Station on Sep 10, 2008 at 04:53 PM
It doesn't matter what her predecessor spent! What matters is that she PUT TAXPYER MONEY IN HER OWN POCKET! She made sure she got her share of taxpayer money! She could have SAVED the taxpayers $18,720 by staying in her own home for FREE and not charging the taxpayers for it. What she did was NOT OK and she should be prosecuted just like a welfare cheat should be. She is no better than the rest of us when it comes to breaking the law!

Posted by: Doris Location: Wellborn on Sep 10, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Dear Observer in Bryan, if you'd read the whole story you would see that she spent a fraction of the money the previous governor spent. Get past the headlines! It's funny when you make accusations that are not supported by the sources you quote! Go, Sarah!

Posted by: Observer Location: Bryan on Sep 10, 2008 at 12:20 PM
WOW! I wish I could get someone--taxpayer or not!-- to pay me $18,720 to spend the night in my own home! $18,720 is more than some folks make in a year! Sarah Palin was paid SIXTY BUCKS A NIGHT to stay in her own home! Sarah Palin committed a crime---stealing taxpayer money--a crime of fraud, abuse, and theft of goverment money. Seems she has figured out how to get her share of taxpayer money. Seems she is no different from the rest of the corrupt, lying politicans when it comes to lining her own pockets. Also, that jet Palin insisted be sold (the one that did not sell on Ebay) was sold at a loss of $600K dollars in taxpayer money! It had been used almost exclusively to transport prisoners from place to place and was used very little by the former governor. Looks to me like Sarah Palin doesn't take very good care of taxpayer money, unless it is in getting it into her own pocket. Wonder did she place a mint on her pillow?

Posted by: Observer Location: Bryan on Sep 9, 2008 at 08:32 PM
WALL STREET JOURNAL also says that when Sarah Palin was Governor, she billed the taxpayers for 312 nights she spent at her own home, charging the taxpayers a "per diem" meant for expenses while on state business. That's pretty over-the-top! To expect the taxpayers to pay you for spending time in your own home! That sounds like living off the government to me, like those welfare cheats do. A little thing called FRAUD! I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg that just might sink Sarah Palin's ship.

Posted by: Observer Location: Bryan on Sep 9, 2008 at 06:02 PM
Looks like Sarah Palin, the current Darling of the Republican Party, is fixing to go headfirst off that Bridge to Nowhere. Reputable journalists, even THE WALL STRRET JOURNAL are finally calling Sarah Palin and John McCain on the outright lie about the Bridge. WSJ is also calling both of them on their lies about stopping porkbarrel earmarks. They must think the American people really are stupid! Why would you lie about things that have well-documented paper trails and all kinds of evidence proving you are a liar? What kind of leaders are these two? Not very smart ones. Stupid is a good word.

Posted by: Bricker on Sep 9, 2008 at 04:18 PM
Okay, suit yourself. As long as you realize that every half-assed attack you guys launch at Palin merely results in her poll numbers going up. Now you know how Hillary felt this past winter.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: madisonvillle on Sep 9, 2008 at 10:37 AM
Actually, it is quite important to know if Sarah Palin is telling the truth, the whole tuth, and nothing but the truth. If she will lie about little things-- makng it seem more than it was...then Sarah Palin will lie about the big things. Also, the Republicans screamed that "lying" by Al Gore and John Kerry was SOOOOOOO inportant...Sarah Palin needs to be held to the same standard! If important then, it's really important now, as there are so many fakers out there! By the way, Sarah Palin just lied again..she was not Miss Congeniality as she claimed she was. What is this woman?--A pathological liar? She tells a lie when the truth would sound better!

Posted by: Bricker on Sep 9, 2008 at 08:21 AM
"put it on ebay vs. sold it on ebay": what's more important? Whether the jet sold on ebay after she listed it there or the fact that eventually she unloaded an expensive luxury and used the money for other purposes? You guys need to pick better fights, this one just makes you appear lame(r).

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 8, 2008 at 02:52 PM
Sarah Palin is a lot like Al Gore..she fudges the truth...His ==I invented the Internet ==is similar to her statement ==I put the jet on e-bay==...She let people believe she had sold the jet on e-bay when it did not sell on e-bay, thus that part really is a lie---it sold later in another way---Truthfully though, Al Gore really didn't say he invented the Internet, only that he had been instrumental in the Internet which was true. Word Play that gives the wrong impression. It is true she was for the bridge before she was against it. I don't think Miss Sarah is a straight talker or a straight shooter. Just my gut feeling. I didn't like Al Gore either.

Posted by: Bricker on Sep 8, 2008 at 12:29 PM

Elmer: Be sure you tell folks that Thomas Jefferson was highly offended whenever anyone tried to grill him on his religious persuasion or his faith or his spirituality. Thomas Jefferson, in no uncertain terms, told all askers THAT IT WAS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS! Jefferson felt that religion, spiritualiy, religion, faith--whatever you want to call it--was a private matter and no one's business but one's own. That is one of our rights, to believe or not to believe, and to not have anyone question your right. FREEDOM is why the Puritans came to America...and why we fought the American Revolution. Many Americans dislike organized religion trying to tell them how to live their lives.

Godly people do not approve of having sex outside of marriage and then having an illegitmate child--indisputable proof that you had sex outside of marriage. God is against sex outside of marriage. Adultery, etc. The Bible says so. To applaud Sarah Palin's daughter is to applaud a sin. Forgive sinners, yes, but don't applaud and praise their sin, whether homosexuality, illegitimate children, adultery, or sex outside marriage. The BIble calls it fornication. That is what Sarah Palin's daughter and many other Americans have been doing--- Fornicating is what the Bible calls it. SEX outside of marriage is a SIN! No one is perfect but there are many famous sinners who do not care if they sin or not. I don't think they need to be our leaders, like John McCain and Sarah Palin want to be.

Posted by: Elmer Williams -The "Young Sprout" Location: College Station on Sep 8, 2008 at 09:44 AM
"RJ" is correct. Separation of church and state is not mentioned in the constitution. The First Amendment of the Constitution has two clauses that pertain to religion. The establishment clause prohibits the government from establishing a religion such as England did when the king established the church of England. The free practice clause prohibits the government from interfering with the free practice of religion by doing things like banning the Bible as the taliban has done. Thomas Jefferson attended Christian church services that were held in the United States Senate chambers every Sunday at the time. In America you are free to worship whoever, whatever or nothing at all. Nowhere does in the constitution does it mention the separation of church and state. I have read that document over and over many times. Don't just take my word for it. Go to your local library and read up on it. Ops, I forgot. You liberals don't care about the truth.

Sarah Palin is lying about selling jet on e-bay--it did not sell. She is lying about not being for the bridge to nowhere-she was for it before she was against it..a flip flopper big time! She could very well be lying that the Down Syndrome baby is hers and not her daughter's. Don't know anything about Joe Biden. Do know about Sarah Palin's lying. Also she is stalling-- like Cheney and Bush-- the ethics investigation of her. I think she just a good ole politician trying to present herself as something she not. She was created by Newt Gingrich and Tom Delay--GOPAC. Worst thing that ever happened to politics was scumbag Newt Gingrich, iunless it is TURD BLOSSOM Karl Rove. They have ruined America!

To Anonymous in Bryan. So Palin lied? Well why didn't you mention that Joe Biden got caught plagiarizing when he was at Syracuse University Law School in 1965? Why didn't you mention that he lied about the terrible 1972 accident in which his wife and young child tragically died? Joe lied when he said the gentlemen driving the truck that struck the poor lady's station wagon was drunk. The truth of the matter is the man was not a drinker and the terrible accident that claimed Mrs. Biden and her young child was the result of her failure to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle. Unfortunately, Mrs. Biden did not see an oncoming 18 wheeler. Why lie about this? I can not understand just what Joe stands to gain by lying about the truck driver. That was a terrible, terrible accident that claimed two lives. Why he continues to tarnish the name of a man that died in 1999 is beyond my grasp. Thankfully, the truck drivers children have stepped forward with the police reports.

To the Devil: The fact that Ann Coulter speaks the truth is what bothers you. Her delivery in her speeches have wit in them and that's what you can't get past. I don't idolize anyone thank you very much. I'm not mean-spirited, nor do I hate people. But I am tired of more than 50% of this country looking for a government hand-out. And the fact that the (some) polls show 51% are willing to elect Obama then that tells me they are looking for a hand-out. I totally agree with Jill. I think she's said been most profound and intelligent blog on this whole bit. It's not about race, political affiliation, or sex; it's about the fact that Obama wants bigger gov't, smaller military, higher taxes, and really has not said anything positive about our country that bothers me.

Posted by: RJ Location: Texas on Sep 7, 2008 at 09:37 PM
Where in the Constitution does it say separation of church in state? Where? Its NOT in there, people. Its in a letter from Jefferson to a small Baptist organization in Virginia. And you think those who are not evangelicals wouldn't do the same thing to me and you--run our lives and tell us what to do!? You know, everybody wants to rule the world. Given the chance, anyone can be a tyrant, no matter their personal beliefs in God or no beliefs at all.

Posted by: Devil on Sep 7, 2008 at 07:58 PM
Ann Coulter is the personification of evil and hate. To the person who said she's a breath of fresh air, you're obviously a person who idolizes mean-spirited, hate-filled people. I think if she were to breathe on any living thing not already evil, it would probably wilt and die immediately.

Posted by: KeepChurchOutOfGov on Sep 7, 2008 at 07:51 PM
All evangelicals need to be kept out of government. They are dangerous! Out of control "religious" officials are exactly what and why the colonists who started this country ran for their lives. That is why the Constitution clearly requires (requires! not suggests) separation of church and state. Evangelicals want to run your life - some of you reading this may think that since you currently agree with some/most of their "values", that that's OK with you. Well you better get prepared. The more evangelical nutjobs get power, the more they'll be telling you and me just exactly how, when, where, why, and what we can do and they'll want to exact hellish punishments for those who don't follow their commandments. ALL AMERICANS - VOTE NO TO NUTJOB EVANGELICALS, regardless of the party they identify themselves with.

I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. I am a conservative. I believe you should be able to keep more of your hard earned money, regardless of your income. I believe in the year 2008 if you are able bodied and poor it is most likely because you are ignorant or lazy. Yes, there would be a few exceptions to that. I believe that the solution to your problems is in your bathroom mirror. I believe you can create your own happiness. I believe you are the master of your own destiny and you hold the keys to your success or failure in life. A person is not automatically a conservative because they belong to the Republican party. George W. Bush, like his father, is a moderate. A person is not automatically a liberal because they belong to the Democratic party. Zell Miller, a Democrat, is about as conservative as they get. I am pretty much left out in the cold this election. There is not a conservative candidate in this race. Oh well, maybe Palin will run in 2016.

You are out of date, Mr. Elmer, on exactly who is getting welfare these days. It is mainly WHITE PREGNANT girls, then Hispanics, then blacks. Take a trip to the local welfare office and stay a while, to see for yourself. The white folks have figured out they can Work the system, too. Your taxpayer dollars pay for their babies and them, too. Many have well-off parents who want it done this way. Saves them money, Or boyfriends who provide, too. There are some on welfare that have a legitimate need due to illness, etc and are not generational. The face of welfare has changed greatly since we no longer think it is a sin --even though the Bible still says it is--to have sex outside marriage and have illegitimate children. Our age used to call it "shacking up" and it was considered a huge sin. It is now the norm. Now we condone many things the Bible says are sins. Aren't you proud of Sarah Palin's daughter for not getting on welfare and using tax dollars for herself and her baby?

Republicans have no compassion for others. Wih a Republican, It is all about what can I get for myself and then KeeP? I'm not going to share with anyone, even if it is the right thing --the Christian thing--to do. Jesus had compassion. I wonder what jesus would say about these greedy, stingy Republicans?

I can not recall who it was but a very wise person once said, "A man that is a conservative at age 18 is a cruel, cold hearted SOB. "A man that is a liberal after age 30 is a fool". Parenthood, a career, a mortgage and the realization that a major portion of your income is being forcibly taken away from you and given away to 5th generation welfare recipients that are not the least bit grateful for all they are given will rapidly turn a young liberal in to a conservative. The economic policies of the liberals do nothing to create new wealth and everything to redistribute existing wealth. Liberals have bought the votes of the lazy and unmotivated with promises of larger welfare checks, Lone Star cards and a free HUD apartment. You probably had to take a pre employment drug test at your job. You might even be required to submit to random drug testing. Why shouldn't we extend this requirement to those that are given tax payer money? They get a drug conviction and keep the HUD apartment.

Here's a just-out headline you Republicans are going to love, since you like to keep your tax dollars so much. "Feds take over Mortgage Giants; Going to cost Taxpayers Billions." This is what happens when you eliminate oversight. Greed, corruption, and what's in it for me screws the hard-working, taxpaying American people once again. But it;'s ok..they are getting what they consider "Theirs", not ours!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Bryan on Sep 7, 2008 at 01:47 PM
So only Republicans have money and they give it away to the Democrats? What planet are you on? The Republicans claim to be the more moral, more religious party of family values but don't want to do what Jesus would do--to help others that legitimately need help? Everyone should pay their fair share and instead of doing away with taxes, use them more wisely and put a stop to waste, abuse, and fraud that is rampant in all parts of the government, the White House included. Alaska kept that $223 million dollar earmark that Sarah Palin was so proud of helping get for Alaska. She wrote, "WE DID WELL!" about getting that $223 million earmark. She is a flip-flopper, saying whatever she thinks you want to hear and might make her look good. She is no different than all the other politicians, just a different stripe of polecat.

Sally, a young, democratic went off to college with her best friend, Mary. The first year goes by and Sally has a 4.0 GPA, studied each night, and really didn't have many friends because of her focus on her studies. Mary has a 3.0 GPA, partied most nights, and has so many friends that she's all but forgotten about Sally. Sally went home for the summer and was telling her dad about Mary's parting days and how she only had a 3.0 GPA, and all the friends Mary has. She just could not believe it, why didn't Mary want to do better. Sally's father told her, "Well, maybe you can give .5 GPA to Mary and then both of you will be at 3.5?" Sally was outraged, "I worked hard for my 4.0, I'm not going to just give it up to someone who hasn't earned it herself!" Her dad replied, "Welcome to the Republican Party dear!"

Anonymous Sept 6, 9:48: I will tell you why people that get money suddenly become Republicans. A Democrat's mind set is, "What's yours is mine and what mine is mine." A Republican's mind set is, "What's mine is mine and what's yours is yours." See, when a person has money they start seeing how much is actually taken away from them for the Democrats. They suddenly realize that they worked for their money and they don't want to give it up. That's why people become Republicans. I am a Republican, yet I can promise you this, I am by no means wealthy. I just want what's mine to stay mine. Each week I look at my paycheck and say to myself, "Well someone with a Lone Star Card just had a steak dinner on me, wish I could have had it."

Yes I am very rich. I have my health a nice family and I am very happy. My financial status, which has nothing to do with being "rich" is very personal and I will not discuss that here. There is so much hatred towards success in this nation. Currently the wealthiest Americans carry 79% of the nation's tax burden according to the IRS. The poorest 20% of Americans pay nothing and the middle class picks up the other 21% of the burden. Based on the IRS stats nobody can argue the wealthy people don't pay "their fair share" in taxes. I am very "anti tax". Why? Because the government has wasted so much of everyone's hard earned money. Never in the history of the world has a nation taxed itself in to prosperity. Taxes are the penalty a person pays for being a success in life. Whether or not you respect a person because of their age is totally irrelevant to me. Actually, I tend to agree with you on that. I respect people that share my values, have morals and work ethics. Age is a just a number.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Bryan on Sep 6, 2008 at 09:48 PM
Are you a very well-off 87 year-old? I have found that being Republican correlates directly to the size of one's bank account. My old friend Rick Perry was a lifelong Democrat til he got rich.So was Phil Gramm--my God, the list could go on and on. Many Republicans are afraid they might have to help someone who might need a helping hand, and I don't mean a handout. All the older Republicans I know, and many of the young ones, think they should not have to pay their fair share of taxes, unlike others who feel it an honor to pay their fair share for the privilege of fulfilling the American dream of great wealth in this great country> Just wondering where you are coming from as you seem anti-tax....Don't you want to give something back to this wonderful land of opportunity called America? Also, most of our ancestors were "hillbllies"--what's wrong with that? Are you one of those elitists you talk about? As you can see, I have no respect for age! I'm not too far from you in age! LOL!

No matter who wins, they can not get us into Heaven. No Reagan was not the worse. Who was the president in 1971? That is who we all can thank for things going downhill. American money was backed by Gold Standard until that president gave orders to print more money without financial backing. So, to say this simple, we got money, with no collateral, and now it's not worth much. This is true history. It's not taught in the school though. Who would want a 10year old to know The leader of a country screwed up. History...learn from it, do not repeat the same mistakes.

Yes "Anonymous" in Bryan I am a "younger sprout". I recently celebrated birthday number 87. No, Reagan was not THE greatest president. However, he was one of the greatest. Some others would include fellow Republican Abraham Lincoln, fellow Republican Eisenhower and Republican Teddy Roosevelt. A few of the really bad ones are Republican Herbert Hoover, Democrat and devout socialist Woodrow Wilson( He was kind enough to bring us an income tax.), Democrat James Earl Carter, Democrat and unsophisticated Arkansas hillbilly, Billy Jeff Clinton (Enough Said with that one), and Democrat LBJ. As I said previously, Palin is the best thing since Reagan. Perhaps this great nation will be fortunate enough to have her in the oval office some day. The bulk of America's problems revolve around congress. Although congress has a lower approval rating than Bush, most members have very high ratings in their home states. Texans are powerless when New Yorkers send Chuck Schumer and Carolyn McCarthy to DC.

I beleive that Down syndrome baby is Palin's own child and the next one she has could easily be Down syndrome also as that is the biggest risk for women over 35. The younger the mother, the better chance of a healthy baby, esp if mother takes care of herself and Miss Bristol loooks well cared for and nourished properly.Funny that the Palins photos are suddenly all gone form pubic veiw. Afraid we Might find out the truth? I bet there is a lot more to come that Palins won't want us to find out. I think she is hiding something and it is not that she or her daughter is pregnant. Something that disqualifies her for the job will come to light. Wait--it already has! NO EXPERIENCE!!!!

We are in the last days. We already had the mark of the beast. Ronald Wilson Reagan(666). Instead of blogging, we all better start praying, and getting our affairs in order. Time is drawing near. I'm not being racial so please no one take this as being racial. Let's all try to build a better tomorrow, because we screwed up yesterday!!!

I'm a beauty queen, too, and I do not like Mrs. Sarah Pallin at all! She's no all that pretty and besides Beauty is only skin-deep. I don't like what she says or does.I think she is just more of the same and a flip-flopper to boot! Alaska kept that $223 million in taxpayer money even though they did not build the bridge to nowhere. She was first for the bridge, then later against the bridge. Smells like mooseburger flip=flops to me! MMMMM good!

Sarah Pallin is a rich mother with five , soon to be six kids--that other people take care of for her. She is not your average anything! I admire her grit and confidence and she is a good speaker..but not all that truthful if you check the facts. jet didn't sell on Ebay, I was for the bridge before I was against it. stuff like that turn me off. Her husband really bothers me..wanting to not be a part of America..Creepy real creepy.....something not right about her and this whole deal....Guess time will tell what it is.Sorry for the daughter but other girls not so lucky.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: College Station on Sep 6, 2008 at 08:58 AM
RJ, you're the one who doesn't know what he's talking about. Palin had an affair with her husband's business partner. How's that for family values? She's a perfect running mate for mccain who cheated on his own first wife.

Posted by: RJ Location: Texas on Sep 5, 2008 at 11:18 PM
Wow, Bryanite, then I guess its fair game on judging your children or future offspring based on your actions. Heck, even the best of us mess up. Even Billy Graham had reckless kids, but we still consider him a national voice on spiritual affairs. Yes, her daughter didn't listen, but how many others didn't listen either. In the end, her daughter, not her mom and certainly not you must answer for her choices. And how is she an elitist? Really, how? I didn't think a hockey mom who loves to hunt and fish qualifies as elitist. Then by that definition then I guess Obama is blue collar? Give me a break. You're not even close to conservative, you're just a misinformed hypocrite.

Posted by: Bryanite Location: Bryan on Sep 5, 2008 at 09:43 PM
Apparently Palin is not able to relate to her own daughter and future son-in-law to convince them to not have sex outside of marriage and not to have a child out of wedlock. Her talk on abstinence to her daughter was a failure, obviuosly. I think Palin is the eleitist and a hypocrite to boot. Condemn others for getting preganant, but not my daughter's pregnancy. The morals of an alley cat sounds like to me. Taught her daughter nothing. It is not a Republican value to have sex outside of marriage and a child out of wedlock. Call me old-fashioned, but I am a true Conservative who values morals and family values.

Reagan was not the greatest president! You froget that inflation was the highest we have ever seen in this country. Wages could not begin to keep up with the outrageous interst rates of the Reagan era. Even George Bush the Elder said Reagan economics was voodoo economics and that Trickle-Down doesn't work! You must be a younger sprout to think Ronald Reagan was such a good president, and not have lived thru 14% and higher interest rates!

Although I have never been a huge fan of John McCain's voting record I have to admit he made an outstanding choice when he selected Palin for a running mate. As a life long conservative, Palin represents everything I look for in a candidate. She has work ethics, morals, values, intelligence and she has a very unique ability to relate to people. She does not reek of arrogance, like so many of the radical left wing elites. Albert Gore jr. spews the myth of global warming while he flies all over the world in a private jet and criticizes you for driving an SUV. Barrack Obama thinks your tax dollars should be spent on a government health care program. For an example of how inefficient and ineffective such a program would be we only have to look as far as the nearest post office. Picture long lines, misplaced records, understaffed offices and employees that are not nearly as sympathetic as those in the private sector that have to compete for your money. Palin is the best thing since Reagan.

On March 5th, 2008 Alaska"s Republican Governor, Sarah Palin, announced to the media that she was 7 months pregnant with her 5th child. She is currently 44. Palin"s daughter Bristol is 16 and attends an Anchorage high school. Students who have attended class with her report that she has been out of school for months, claiming a prolonged case of mono. Palin does not appear pregnant in any recent photographs. The announcement came as quite a shock to people who had worked closely with her, and have been quoted as saying that she did not appear pregnant whatsoever during the prior 7 months. And there"s more " check out the photo above taken with Palin"s daughter having a bulge in her stomach. And even more. Since these rumors have begun circulating, the Alaska Department of State has taken down ALL PHOTOS of the governor and her family from the state"s website.

The Book of Revelations! This will make you re-think: A Trivia question in Sunday School: How long is the beast allowed to have authority in Revelations? Guess the Answer? Revelations Chapter 13:5 tells us it is 42 months. And you know what that is. Almost a four-year term to a Presidency. All I can say is Lord Have Mercy on us.!!!!!! According to The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is: (NOW REMEMBER THIS IS IN THE BIBLE NOT MADE UP.) READ REVELATION; YOU TOO WILL SEE. The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal. The prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything..... READ YOUR BIBLES, PEOPLE. IT'S COMING FASTER THAN SOME OF US THINK. NOVEMBER ELECTION IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.

Blame congress! LOL People like this, blame everyone else for all their problems.Bigger goverment gives them more people to blame. Take care of yourselves people!Stop waiting on everyone else to do it. I think people in "real" need should get it. Not people who expect goverment to "take care" of them. GO McCain Palin...clean it up, no matter how many enemies you make on both sides. Which I'm sure there will be many. Withdrawal from addiction is a hard road. Many Americans are addicted to the rest of us taking care of them, even after their sorry choices. Help, yes I'm for it IF, and thats a big IF that needs to be defined. Otherwise, take care of yourselves, pay the price for own choices! So sad, that many people have been crippled by goverment because of the hand outs that I'M SICK OF PAYING FOR!

Anonymous @1:11 and Macedonia, good post and I agree. I voted republican the last two elections but not this time. I am looking at issues. EVERYTHING is higher since the Republican party has been in office the last 8 years and they can in no way blame this on the democratic party. Also, this war has dragged on long enough. Bush promised that we would not be there long and I cannot support him in this any longer. I was upset when Republicans started stating that you could not say that you support the troops and not the war at the same time. This is a bunch of bull! I have friends and relatives fighting in Iraq and I do support them as well as all of the troops, but I no longer support a war that is going nowhere and costing and arm and a leg. Look for the libs to file all sorts of lawsuits when Husein Obama/Biden get defeated.

How will Obama "heal" the US? If anything, this country will still be divided. With a Jobama victory then the Dems will have what they complained the Repubs had for years after 9/11: one party control of the government. I understand Obama's intellectual appeal, I don't think he has anything that's common to an ordinary person. How will Obama put people back to work? What are his plans? Yes, I've visited his website and its just vague description of lofty ideals. Obama isn't the best candidate for America. Sure, McCain isn't the best either, but he's better than Obama. He'd led, in battle. He knows how much the US has changed under Bush's mismanagement (read some of the books by Bob Woodward). He's more to the center than anyone knows. Things are different now than in 2000 when he ran. DeLay and Rove are gone. Cheney is soon to exit. Now McCain and the more moderate sectors of the GOP can finally come to the surface. Palin is the perfect compliment to his goals as POTUS.

If you will remember what a scumbag Newt Gingrich turned out to be, you will know that this woman is not vice-presidential material, and most definitely not presidential material. She is a smooth talker who talks out of both sides of her mouth. Her record in Alaska proves that. She will only dig the hole we are in deeper----Sarah Palin is a horrific choice for vice-president!

Sarah Palin is a very attractive woman with a beautiful family behind her, but she is not the best choice for the VP. McCain is hopeing that with her as a running mate he might stand a chance of winning. But he is not going to win. He is not what America needs right now. We have alot of mental and financial healing to do becasue of the poor leadership of Bush and Chaney. Obama is the best candidate for America, he can heal us. We need to vote for Obama. Palin is confident, a Washington outsider, an eloquent speaker; she's tactful and she has class. On the other hand, Biden is an embarrassment to his party. He's one of the Washington insiders and is a "Good 'ol Boy." His ethics are questionable, he is a loose cannon, arrogant, opinionated, loud, egotistical and tactless. Steve Kroft interviewed Obama and Biden on 60 Minutes last Sunday, and Biden clearly embarrassed Obama several times with his inane comments. Read the transcript at http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/08/30/60minutes/main4400811.shtml and note how many times Biden interrupts the interview and interjects his remarks. What a jerk!

I love how they attack her for her husbands 20 year old DUI, yet say nothing about Obama's past (admitted) cocaine use. Laughable.

I have not been excited this entire political campaign until last night. I do believe Palin will make a great VP. For all those who say a VP doesn't do anything, I'd like to know where you get that from? They are the deciding vote in the Senate in a tie. Maybe you think they just sit back and relax, but even if that was the circumstance with this job, Palin would not be able to just sit back. She's already demonstrated to me that her first public/televised speech was better than any speech I've heard all year long, from either camp. I will vote with my heart and my common sense; I will vote McCain/Palin. I would much rather have a President who served our country than a fool who won't even respect our flag!

What does she really think? She obviously has been to the school for "politicos". There are lots of people out there who have never had a real thought, but because they "look good" and come across well on film we vote for them..case in point..GW Bush, after his 2nd election he must have started believing that he was so smart he could do as he pleased and look at the mess we have. Stop seeing the world between left and right and start looking at the world between those who think and those who believe. Unless Jesus wants to start reforming health care, creating alternative and renewable energy infrastructure, and address the market failure of failing to address increased global warming then Jesus is going to be about as effective as the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy with regard to problem solving. "Whatever" is whining about Palin being "negative and hateful". LOL, classic. After 5 days of an unprecedented hate-fest against Palin on the part of libs and the MSM (was I redundant just now?) which even Susan Estrich described as one of the most over-the-top things she's ever seen, "Whatever" is going to bemoan a few well-placed and funny zingers. Even Biden admitted that they were just that. Yes, she sounds like Marge Gunderson on "Fargo", but America will love this women (and likely does right now) and Obama is now, officially, toast. What is she going to be doing in office? She's going to be getting some OJT for her overwhelmingly successful run for the presidency in 2012.

I'm so tired of the media comparing her experience against Obama's. That's comparing apples to oranges. She isn't running for president, if they want to compare credentials and experience they need to be comparing Obama against McCain. She has accomplished more in her 2 years as govenor than Obama has in 3 years as Senator. She's articulate, elequent, and doesn't require a teleprompter to speak without heming and hawing every other word. The media's job is to report not to inflict their views and try to sway the public. MSNBC is the worst for doing this. Just give us the facts, we are intelligent enough to make up our own minds. And if we aren't, then we aren't intelligent enough to be voting anyway.

Since when has having young children disqualified anyone from politics? Reality check: Obama has young kids. Better take him off the ticket. JFK had young kids. Many have had young kids. Makes me wonder if she has been accused of using her position to do things as Mayor or Govenor, what will she do as VP?

Posted by: Monty on Sep 4, 2008 at 09:00 AM
Governor Palin may paint herself as a "Washington Outsider" but she had no problem hiring a lobbying firm to request for "pork" spending when she was Mayor of Wassila and as Governor. Alaska led the nation last year in "pork" spending per capita at $300 per resident. The average per state was $34 per person last year. She was for the "bridge to nowhere" before she was against it and she was listed on John McCain's "pork list" over "objectionable" pork spending when she was Mayor. She may cast herself as a Washington outsider but she clearly has no problem asking for pet project funding. More of the same from a Republican Governor , "Do as I say, and not as I do."

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 4, 2008 at 08:12 AM
Yes, at first glance..what a woman, but because you can pull off a speech written for you doesen't mean that you're the perfect person. I liked her too, but I'll wait & see. Apparently her abstinence speech didn't make an impact with her daughter so I reserve judgement. I think that the Repubs are excited to have more than some old pooper to vote for that she could have just walked on stage & waved & they would have been happy. We'll see!

wow, a great attack speech on Obama without any substance to it. I think she and McCain make a great team, that's comedy team. She needs to go back to Alaska and do what she does best, have babies.

Negative, awful empty choice for vice president..certainly not fit to be president. I do not like her at all! Not qualified...too many skeletons in her closet. Seems like a fake to me. I am an Independent and depend on my intuition . I don't care for her at all. My gut says throw this one back!!!

Sarah Palin described herself as a "pitbull"..I think that is a terrible analogy, as a pitbull dog is an unpredictable, agressive animal bred to kill, that can attack with no warning, though previously docile --a dangerous, dangerous animal- I am one of many --through personal experience--that HATE PITBULLS! My intuiition tells me she could be another Karl Rove..an awful human being who beleives in "slash and destroy" your countrymen or women that you consider your enemies. I believe she would not be a good vice president and would be an absolutely Terrible president. I do not care for her at all, just as I never cared for Ellen Degeneres , long before she came out of her gay closet. That's my INdependent Party gut feeling.

Wow, what a speech! She's vibrant, engaging. She talked energy and other things. Loved the part about laying pipe..and other energy things. She got my attention. I wanted to hear more about the pipe.

Negative and hateful, everything I could expect from Republicans. She wants to play the victim when people discuss her family yet she went on a hateful tangent full of insults against Obama the entire time. Not one time did I hear about her policies and what she plans on doing in office.

Extremely talented lady and politician; her speech reinforced my preliminary expectations. Gov Palin will be a extraordinary vice-president and hopefully will run for president in 2012. I approve one hundred percent of John McCains's pick for VP and her family is just as wonderful.

I think that was one of the greatest speech I have heard in a very long time, she knocked there socks off and buried there head in the sand.

Wow! She's everything Barak wished he could be... And she's just a normal ol' American gal that has good Christian beliefs. She's believable, unlike the other guy that has a Muslim background and claims Christianity through an anti-Christ preacher that takes God's name in vain and cusses his country.... Palin is real, not manufactured! Go McCain-Palin!

Way to go Sarah. Run Sarah run! I was unsure of her and McCain before but now I'm behind them 100%. No way, no how, No Jobama.
