A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Lee, Leon, Milam, Madison, Montgomery, Houston, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington, San Jacinto and Robertson Counties until 9:00am Monday morning. A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is moving through the Brazos Valley this morning. Heavy rain, frequent lightning, and winds above 50 mph are our main concerns. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Two people were injured Saturday night after a motorcycle accident in Grimes County.
Eyewitnesses say Barbara Cooper, 56, was on FM 244 near Carlos when she lost control of her motorcycle. Cooper suffered a broken arm and other injuries and was life-flighted to Houston as a precaution.
Her 13-year-old granddaughter was also on the bike and was transferred to the College Station Medical Center for observation. She was not seriously injured.
Eyewitnesses credit some College Station firefighters for helping out. The firefighters were coming back from a training exercise in Anderson when they drove up on the accident.
