A $5,000 scholarship is now in the hands of one of America's smartest -- an A&M Consol senior.

Jessica Wang received the award from the Siemens Foundation Tuesday evening. She is one of two students in the country to earn the honor for high marks in the Advanced Placement program.

Wang is also the first presidential scholar in Consol history.

Another Siemens award winner was Consol's Samson Zhou, who was recognized as one of the top AP students in the state.

College Station ISD also awarded their top teachers at the Tuesday board meeting. The elementary school teacher of the year is Maureen Haggarty of South Knool. The secondary teacher of the year is Jamie Bassett from Consol. The support person of the year is Margie Person of Cypress Grove.
