A teacher's aide who worked in special education classes in San Antonio has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for molesting mentally challenged students.
Ernest Huizar pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child by contact.
The 55-year-old waived his right to a presentence investigation and was sentenced to prison and a six-thousand-dollar fine.
Huizar was arrested in March after a 15-year-old student with mental retardation told police he had been molested by the aide, according to an arrest affidavit. Police say the victim has the apparent mental capacity of a three- to five-year-old.
After the arrest, a 16-year-old student came forward and said Huizar had inappropriately touched him at least twice in March.
Huizar had worked for the San Antonio Independent School District for eight years.
