A College Station man is behind bars this evening after struggling with the homeowner he was trying to steal from.
College Station Police were called to the 900 block of Montclair Friday after the homeowner found Gary Wayne McGruder in one of his bedrooms.
When the homeowner confronted McGruder, a struggle ensued and the owner slashed McGruder with a pocket knife.
McGruder, 38, was able to get away, but police soon found him in the 1100 block of Georgia Street.
He was treated at the Med for non-life threatening injuries, and has since been charged with burglary of a habitation. The homeowner was not injured.
This is not McGruder's first run-in with the law. He has previous arrests for burglary and drug possession.
