The College Station school board is meeting tomorrow evening to discuss superintendent Jimmy Creel.
Notice of the special meeting was posted Friday.
On the agenda is the consultation with an attorney regarding Creel's contract, and the consideration of his "performance evaluation, contract, and possible leave of absence."
Creel said his contract calls for an annual performance evaluation prior to his one year anniversary date.
"Things are going well from my end of things. I look at test scores, and UIL wins, and we're doing well; but there probably are some concerns," said Creel referring to possible concerns of board members.
In response to the board's consideration of a "possible leave of absence," Creel said board members "are just covering their bases."
School board president Tim Jones is limited by what he can say since it's a personnel matter. He confirms that the board wants to look at Creel's contract to determine specifically how and when his evaluation is to be done.
Jones said he expects the board to be behind closed doors in executive session about an hour and a half. "If any action needs to be taken in open session, it'll happen after that time," he said.
Before Creel's post in College Station, he worked at deputy superintendent in Katy.
He was selected College Station ISD's superintendent last June, and started September 1.
