There are over 300 adult slow-pitch softball teams in town this weekend for the 28th Annual Budweiser Softball Festival.
This is the largest USSSA adult tournament in the nation.
It has received numerous national awards in the past, including Tournament of the Year.
At the USSSA Convention last November in Temecula, California, Jack Hilliard Distributing of Bryan received the premier award of the night for their support of this tournament over the past 28 years.
Games are played around-the-clock at all 5 softball venues in Bryan-College Station: Veterans Park, Bryan Regional Athletic Complex, Central Park, Bee Creek Park and Haswell/Lions Park.
Festivities begin tonight at 7 p.m. with a $1,000 Home Run Derby at B.R.A.C. There will be literally thousands of people in attendance. Some actual games begin at Veterans Park tonight at 7 p.m. and continue through 3 a.m. Games begin Saturday at 8 a.m. at all 5 complexes and continue non-stop around-the-clock until midnight Sunday night.
Less than 10 of the 300+ teams are from Bryan-College Station, as teams are coming in from all corners of Texas and some from Louisiana. Every single hotel room in Bryan-College Station is sold out this weekend because of this event.
