An Arlington man accused of brutalizing a year old infant has been indicted on two counts of child abuse. Jerry Rangel, 23, was indicted Thursday for aggravated sexual assault of the child, injury to a child and failing to register as a sex offender. Authorities say Rangel was left to babysit the infant and two older siblings. The child suffered multiple skull fractures, a broken leg, and sexually-related injuries.
Also indicted Thursday were five suspects accused of holding up the State Bank in College Station. Chuck Oliver, Darren Mack, Edward Crain, Jaron Washington and Stacey Maloney are all charged with aggravated robbery. The group is accused of tying up two female employees at gunpoint and robbing the State Bank on Wellborn back on April 15th.
In other action, a Temple man accused of pistol whipping his ex-girlfriend before threatening to kill her was indicted. Michael Manuel, 29, faces four counts of aggravated assault and evading arrest.
