LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Three people have died in a West Texas accident when their SUV hit a dog, veered into traffic and collided with a pickup truck.
Lubbock police say the wreck Friday night killed a man, a woman and a child in the SUV, plus left two people hurt. The dog also died.
The fatalities were the SUV driver, 29-year-old Jesse Maldonado, plus 27-year-old Erica Ysasaga and 3-year-old Jocelyn Maldonado. A 7-year-old girl in the SUV was seriously hurt, while the pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
Hospital authorities on Saturday did not immediately update the condition of the injured girl, who was ejected from the SUV. Lubbock police are trying to determine any possible relationship between the victims in the SUV.
