College Station superintendent Jimmy Creel wants to be reinstated by the board that placed him on administrative leave.
The school board took action on Creel after a six hour meeting two weeks ago. Three of the board members later cited leadership as the reason for the move.
Creel's attorney, Neal Adams, sent the school board a response to Creel's performance evaluation yesterday evening.
In it, Adams says, he's asking the board to reinstate Creel immediately and says they had no basis for placing him on administrative leave.
School board president Tim Jones wouldn't confirm receipt of the response saying it's a personnel matter.
Adams also says the response addresses concerns about a possible violation of state statute when some board members revealed the reason for placing Creel on administrative leave to the media. He says anything relating to Creel's contract or performance is confidential.
