Saturday brings another chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Brazos Valley. During the afternoon hours, scattered areas of rain and storms could develop in the daytime heat (30%). A line of rain and thunderstorms will be possible between sunset and midnight -- moving in from the north & west. If these storms can reach the area, they could pose a localized flooding & damaging wind threat.
The hot and dry conditions this weekend may be to blame for a wildfire that kept a Burleson County fire crew busy.
Firefighters from Cade Lakes and Caldwell fought a multi-acre pasture fire Saturday afternoon.
Crews were called about 2:30pm to an area off Sugar Hill Road.
In all, it took about an hour-and-a-half to extinguish the fire, but the exact cause remains unknown.
It's been about a week-and-a-half since any measurable rain has fallen in the area. No burn bans are in effect in any Brazos Valley counties.
