Fish Daddy's announced Monday it still plans to open a restaurant in College Station, but in a brand new building. The news comes after several months of wondering whether a February fire would force the chain to rebuild at the former Rockfish location, or start from scratch.
The fire started when workers left rags with wood stain on the floor. Fire officials said the rags heated up, lighting the flammable stain.
Monday they said they will demolish it and start over.
Construction should begin in the next four to six weeks.
As for a projected opening date, it could be as soon as November.
