The Washington area snipers may have been responsible for more shootings than earlier thought -- including a fatal shooting in Texas.
The Washington Post, citing a person familiar with the case, reports that Lee Malvo has told investigators he and fellow sniper John Muhammad shot four other people in 2002, two of them fatally.
One of those was a man shot in the head from a distance in May 2002 as he worked on a yard in Denton, Texas. The other death was in southern California.
The two other shootings happened in the Southeast: a man was shot and wounded on a golf course in Florida, and a man was robbed and shot near Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Prosecutors in Maryland have not commented on the report.
