A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madision, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, & Washington Counties until 8am Saturday morning.
If you're looking for a way to get rid of an old, torn, or tattered flag, local boy scouts have the answer. The project is underway in College Station to help members of the community dispose worn American and Texas flags properly. Flags can be dropped off at any of College Station's fire stations.
Each station is equipped with boxes with the American flag on them which are set out beside the main entrance. The boxes will be available through the 4th of July. The flags will be given to Boy Scout Troop 60, who will dispose of them with the proper ceremony.
The retirement ceremony is the Eagle Scout project of local scout Hart Nolte Roth and is sponsored by College Station Parks & Recreation.
