COLLEGE STATION- Kansas State has kept the Texas A&M football team winless in Big 12 Conference play.

The Wildcats blew past the Aggies, 44-to-30, as quarterback Josh Freeman scored four touchdowns.

The Ags fall to 2-&-4 overall.

The Men in Maroon are 0-&-2 in the Conference of Record.

They host Texas Tech next Saturday at 11am.
For the second straight week, the A&M offense produced a season-high in total offense. The Aggies had 544 yards today after compiling 402 last week at Oklahoma State. It was the most offensive yards by A&M since the Aggies had 552 against Baylor in last year’s Big 12 opener. A&M also produced season highs in passing yards (419), pass completions (29) and pass attempts (41). The Aggies averaged 7.4 yards per play.

Sophomore quarterback Jerrod Johnson set school records for total offense (487) and passing yards (419). He also rushed 17 times for 68 yards, both career bests. The previous record for total offense was 449 (349 pass/100 rush) by Reggie McNeal vs. SMU in 2005. The previous mark for passing yards was 399 by Dustin Long vs. Kansas in 2002. Johnson’s previous total offense high was 272 yards (275 pass/-3 rush) vs. Miami (Fla).

Johnson completed 29-of-41 passes, both career highs. His 29 completions were sixth most in school history and the 41 attempts tied for 14th. His previous rushing high was 49 vs. La.-Monroe in 2007.

Of Johnson’s 29 completions, 21 were to freshman receivers: 12 to redshirt freshman Ryan Tannehill, seven to true freshman Jeff Fuller and two to true freshman Cyrus Gray.

Tannehill set school freshman records for receptions (12) and receiving yards (210). The previous freshman marks were 10 catches and 146 yards by Terrence Murphy vs. Colorado in 2001. Tannehill is the fifth freshman to surpass the 100-yard level in receiving yards in a game and the first since Kerry Franks had 128 against Wyoming in 2004.

Tannehill’s 12 catches tied for the fourth most overall in school history and were the most since Albert Connell had a school-record 18 catches against Colorado in 1996. His 210 yards were a record for an Aggie in a Big 12 game and were the third most overall in school annals. The last time an Aggie had more receiving yards was in 2005, when Jason Carter had 219 (8 receptions) against Texas State.

Seven of Tannehill’s 12 catches went for first downs, including six on third-down situations.

Senior Jorvorskie Lane’s one-yard plunge late in the second quarter was the 45th rushing touchdown of his career, which breaks the A&M school record that he shared with Darren Lewis (1987-90). It was his 46th total touchdown of his career, which also breaks the school mark that he shared with Lewis and Rodney Thomas (1991-94).

KSU’s punt block in the first quarter marked the first time a Justin Brantly punt has been blocked since the Texas game in 2005, a span of 128 punts.

Seeing his first action of the season was Billy Chavis, who has shifted to linebacker after spending the spring and August camp at tight end.

Taking off their redshirts for today’s game were tight end K.J. Williams (Norman, Okla.) and placekicker Randy Bullock (Klein, Texas).

Making his first career start was redshirt freshman tight end Ben Bass

Game captains were senior Travis Schneider, senior Cyril Obiozor and senior Justin Brantly

Senior fullback Nick LaMantia was the 12th Man for a record 28th time.

The loss gave A&M its first 0-2 conference since the 1984 Aggies fell to Texas Tech (30-12) and Houston (9-7) in Southwest Conference play.

I am shocked that A&M can recruit anyone other than white students to your pitiful institution after reading what I just did about a fellow almu who was honored by the university this past weekend. I am referring to the Roland Martin story. Most of you guys totally trashed the guy like he was an axe murderer or something, and he is out there doing something positive. Agree with him or disagree with him, but trash a former student like you have...now that is classless! Maybe that is why you guys keep loosing like you do. You get only the players no one else wants. We even have one of you local high school grads playing here and doing a very good job too. So what does that tell you about your institution?

Rudder fountain was indeed dye red before the 2004 Tech/aggie game. So much for "EVER", and we will do it again.

To steve, my guess is that you would do a better job coaching, right? I am sure the only thing you know about football is what station to flip it to, and that has to be football, the ball isn't round..............right?

I would like to invite all the tech fans to Bagdad on the brazos. I'm always amazed, when aggies start accussing others of being classless. But as my dad once told me "you have to know class to show class". aggies have never been known for they're smarts.

If this is true what has been posted about Ags yelling at other Ags because they do not stand up the entire game, then you guys cannot say anything about our fans. In all the years that I have been going to Tech games I have never heard any fan yell at fellow Raider. If the post concerning the elderly couple and young child are true, then shame on you A&M!! I have always expected to get a hard time when I attend away games in support of my team no matter where they play but I would never expect to get yelled at while attending a home game. No fan in their right mind would expect that either. Oh well, I guess that is part of the lure of the spirit of Aggieland. Attend a home game in support of the home team and get yelled at because you sit down by your fellow Ags. Boy you Ags are something else. I don't know what but something.

A&M doesnt have the clout of an OU or Texas. Therefore recruits will not come here unless we run some kind of special offense i.e Tech, Missou, Kansas. We're running an old school boring offense that no recruit wants to apart of. Go to the spread and I guarantee we will be a force in 2 years.

I can tell you one thing, the football team may be struggling and not winning many games, but THE FIGHTIN TEXAS AGGIE BAND NEVER LOSES A HALFTIME!

I totally agree with you. Texas Tech fans are worse that Texas fans. And I can say that in all honesty, because I have been @ all the home games for the last 18 years. Texas Tech is the worst, and next week they are going to annilate us!

Posted by: Saddle Tramp Location: Mule Shoe, TX on Oct 13, 2008 at 03:43 PM
Well Ags, get ready because we are coming to College Station. If we are classless as you say it is only because we had a good teacher....YOU! I will make a deal with you. If you Ags can shut our "classless" mouths on Saturday by beating us, I will buy three rounds for the house at your beloved Dixie Chicken. But if we beat you (which we will) allow us dye the Rudder fountain RED RAIDER RED!!! lol See ya on Saturday. Get your guns up Ags. lol

Yes MHMR, you are correct. Some Aggies do not show any class at times. I know that it is tradition that we stand up the entire game in support of the team but I have never understood why some yell obscenities at other who do not. I have witnesses this on many occassions as well when there have been older Aggies attending games as well and they were yelled at by other Aggies. I was never so ashamed of the some of our students when I witnesses yell the same thing you mentioned at an elderly couple during a game I attended. The couple like the one you talked about got up and left. They were supporters of the university too. I think most of the students are decent, nevertheless, we have to admit that some Ags are just as classless as some Tech fans or whoever.

Posted by: MHMR Location: BCS on Oct 13, 2008 at 01:50 PM
Classless? How dare anyone at A&M call another team classless. You are talking about a school that cruses out anyone who sits down during the game. I was at a game a few years ago and a young couple was there with their son. I guess the child was probably around seven years old and attending his first Aggie game with his parents who had graduated from A&M. It was a very hot day and the child was trying to keep standing during the entire game but being a kid of course they sometimes get tired. The little guy asked his dad to hold him and the dad sat down with him in his lap. A few minutes later a bunch of maroon clad idiots started yell; "Stand up A--hole!!!" at he and his father in unison and for about three minutes before the child started to cry and the family left. Yeah, you Aggies got a lot of class. And this was done to one of your own, nevertheless, I am sure you show more respect to others from rival schools.

Everyone in the Big 12 is improving while we keep hiring new coaches and going nowhere. We get state of the art, enclosed practice fields, workout rooms, apartments for our athletes that the rich would kill for, some of the highest ticket prices in the nation, and still we produce nothing year after year. Seems like everyone is happy as long as we beat Texas. That would be fine if it was a one game season but it is not. I do not hear anyone in the Big 12, but maybe Baylor, saying "wait till next year", or give us a little more time". Fact is A&M football has not been competitive for a while now. I sure hope we do not get a bowl game so we can be blow out in it on national T.V. Maybe we should move down to Division II or put Blinn on the schedule.

Hwy "6", Aggies "0" Man, you guys cannot beat anyone! lol

Posted by: Talk about classless?? Location: College Station on Oct 13, 2008 at 01:26 PM
Yes, Dude, I can attest to some of the classless behavours on both sides (ours and the other teams fans) as a person who works all the home games, and the fans I am mainly talking about are the the students...when they pull their tickets I know they are told that they must present their student ID's along with their tickets to get in the game, and if they dont have their ID they have to purchase an upgrade sticker, then they can be admitted to the game. Not a home game goes by that we dont have some A&M student get ignorant and say some really nasty things because they didnt bring their ID to the game. What they need to know, #1, its the rule, & #2- the game attendants dont make the rules, they just enforce them. As for the other teams, yea I have saw alot of classless things on their side to, such as throwing things, and alot of other things.

To my beloved A@M football team, bad year, still am, and always will be a fan!! Go, get better, lets win some games if we can. To you bandwagon "fans", get lost. For those of us who are true A@M fans, go, go , go!!!

How many seasons was Coach Franchoni here? What about 4-5 seasons? Give Coach Sherman more than 6 games! He is dealing with Franchoni's squad. Next year he can begin building his own squad! Including a change in quarterback!

Will the ticket price drop say in half or perhaps 75%? We would love to attend a loss just to see the Aggie Band at half time.

Keep filling the stands and paying outragoues ticket prices for what, to watch them lose.

Posted by: aggie Location: houston on Oct 12, 2008 at 09:49 AM
Anybody want to buy some season ticket. I will you $10.00 ea to take them. I hate to go to work Monday and listen to it.

Posted by: Richard-tired of being a loser Location: Bryan on Oct 11, 2008 at 10:05 PM
I am sick and tired of waiting until next year. Again, Texas is in the hunt to be #1 in the nation, and more than likely having another Heisman winner. Oh yea, we have John David Crow from way back when. When will Texas A&M football ever "turn the corner" and just be able to compete in Division I football. I guess having a national championship team or to even be in the running will be asking too much especially in my life time.

Posted by: Dude Location: Tx on Oct 11, 2008 at 09:34 PM
Classless? Why, because they are better? I've been to Aggie games before (usually playing Baylor) and i've seen your beloved Aggies taunting fans of the other team, being downright rude to visitors (my grandparents will attest to this...to the point where they called school officials to voice a complaint) and you want to call Tech classless? A few are classless, i'm sure but don't forget to look around at your other Aggies during and after the game...a few of them will display classless behavior that you will find disgracefull.

Posted by: Jerrys Location: Sherman on Oct 11, 2008 at 06:58 PM
Well, the Ags are doing so good this year, but I just hope they don't quit until the final whisle. I have only seen them on TV once this year and they didn't quit. Remember I've seen'em win, I seen'em lose, butI never seen them quit. Old Army will be back. I'm still proud to be a fight'en Texas Aggie.

Where is that twelth man now. Sniveling behind kyle field? GUNS UP!!!!! GO RED RAIDERS*********

Posted by: Who is Classless Location: bcs on Oct 11, 2008 at 05:46 PM
You know everytime I read on of these blogs about another team being called classless by an A@m fan it shows me that the real classless one is the one doing the name calling. And before you refer to the t-shirt with the dog being hung with Vick on it presented by Tech last year maybe you should take a drive out to the 2818 Place apartment complex and look at the Longhorn mascot with a sword stuck in it being displayed by a group of students out there. Classless is a two way street in both towns as far as I can see and it doesn't make it right either way. Don't blame a bad season on others if you are a true fan you still stand behind your team you don't trash them when times are tough you stand behind them through the bad and good I do.

Posted by: field Location: campus on Oct 11, 2008 at 05:34 PM
I agree with Kyle. The student section was discussing how bad the annihilation will be during today's game :/

Posted by: bcs on Oct 11, 2008 at 05:11 PM
this will be the third week in a row I've said this..........ATM is HORRIBLE. I remember how everyone drooled over Mcgee when he first came on scene, yeah hows that working for ya'll now. Baylor will probably beat ATM this year. Go ahead and print somemore anti texas shirts, it seems to really help.

Posted by: steve Location: cs on Oct 11, 2008 at 04:43 PM
They need to fire that joke that they call a coach....

Posted by: Kyle Location: Bryan on Oct 11, 2008 at 04:21 PM
And next week will likely be the worst annihilation in Texas A&M history. Tech has a very good chance of hang 100 points on the Aggies and knowing how classless Tech is, they will do their best to accomplish it. This current A&M team just sucks, there is no other way to put it.
