Sturdivants Say Goodbye

After a year of service, the local Salvation Army Captains are leaving the Brazos Valley. Captains Gary and Beth Sturdivant and their three children are headed to Hendersonville, North Carolina.

They're leaving this weekend and will be closer to family in North Carolina. They hit the ground running when they first arrived here, working during the hurricanes and hosting toy drives.

" The thing that I would like to say to this community is thank you so much for the help that you gave us during disaster and day to day operations," said Gary Sturdivant.

" Words couldn't even begin to express how appreciative my family and I are. We felt the Aggie spirit. We heard about it before we even came here and we got to experience it first hand," said Beth Sturdivant.

Captains John and Christina Branscum will take over at the Salvation Army July 2.
