The Anderson-Shiro High School Owls took home the 1A state baseball championship. Wednesday, the city celebrated in style.
The team paraded from the high school to the Grimes County Courthouse, meeting and greeting hundreds of residents who turned out for the team.
State Representative Lois Kolkhorst, State Senator Steve Ogden, Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell, Anderson Mayor Gail Sowell, and others made presentations to the team.
The baseball title is the first for a team from Anderson-Shiro.
