For the second time in 18 months, Washington County authorities are investigating an armed robbery at the Burton State Bank.

The robbery happened around nine o'clock Friday morning.

Sheriff's officials say the gunman entered the bank and forced bank employees to the ground. He then made two employees open the vault, and took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Before the suspect could get away, a bank customer rammed his pickup truck into the man's motorcycle.

That's when the suspect turned the gun on the man and stole his truck.

Police are looking for a black man about six feet tall, wearing all black and a motorcycle helmet.

The truck he's driving is a 1994 dark blue GMC pickup truck with Texas plates 79F-WT2.

The suspect was last seen driving north on FM 1697.

If you have any information, call the Washington County Sheriff's Department at 979-277-6250.

The same bank was robbed in January 2005.

Jordy Lee Basey walked into the bank, jumped over the bank's counter and made off with cash.

He, and the money, were found later at a home near Round Top.

Basey was convicted just three months ago.
