Washington County officials have recovered the pickup truck used to make a getaway in the latest robbery of the Burton State Bank.
The vehicle was found at a vacant residence on County Road 117 in Lee County Saturday and is now being processed for evidence by DPS. Authorities say the owner of the vehicle rammed the suspect's motorcycle as he tried to get away with $54,000 Friday. The suspect then turned the gun on the pickup's driver and took the truck.
Sheriff's Lieutenant Billy Ruemke says the suspect could face two charges of aggravated robbery when he is found.
Friday's robbery is the second time in 18 months that Burton State Bank has been robbed at gunpoint. The previous time in January 2005, the alleged robber was caught right after the crime.
